Classic Car Addict is excited to present this full frame off rotisserie restoration 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air hardtop for sale in our Mesa, Arizona showroom. The Chevrolet Bel Air was produced by Chevrolet for the 1950-1981 model years. The '57 Bel Air was considered by many to be “the icon of its age” and was among the most recognizable cars of all time. These have always been highly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts.
The cabin features a split-folding front bench seat upholstered in red leather with black patterned inserts, and matching upholstery extends to the rear bench as well as the door and side panels. The metal dash houses an AM radio as well as an analog clock, and additional appointments a retrofitted air conditioning system and lap belts for four occupants. The two-spoke steering wheel features a chrome horn ring and is paired with a floor-mounted shifter. Replacement gauges from Classic Instruments include a 140-mph speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary readouts. The five-digit odometer shows 150 miles, which is said to represent the distance driven since completion of the restoration.
The exterior was refinished in Matador Red and India Ivory and she does not disappoint! It was fully repainted in the last few years. The Ivory ribbed fin panel is inserted on the rear quarters and has gold Bel Air badging. She's straight and rust free throughout. Upfront, the two jet age hood inserts fly, leaving a jet trail. The smiling front grille is newly rechromed and has a large lower bumper, complete with two small Dagmars with rubber tips. The correct Bel Air trim gold egg crate is buried within the smile. Additional features are twin wind splits, hooded headlights (upgraded Halogen lights), dual chrome mirrors, vent windows, and hidden fuel filler. She rolls on staggered Billet Specialties polished rims with Dunlop tires P215/55R16 front and P235/55R17 on the rear.
The Bel Air now features an Art Morrison chassis (0807477), power rack and pinion, Wilwood hydro boost four-wheel disc brakes, shorty headers, Ford 9-inch rear end, and a built 350 engine. It has all the goodies; aluminum mid-rise intake, Quik Fuel four-barrel double pumper, Edelbrock air cleaner, Billett serpentine system, electric fans, and Vintage AC. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission with overdrive.
