Classic Car Addict is now presenting this 1967 Chevrolet El Camino for sale in our Mesa, Arizona showroom. As you can see, she's a fixer-upper vehicle. We would say about 80 percent has been upgraded and redone. It needs paint and a few interior fixes. In 1967, the El Camino was still outselling the Ford Ranchero, two to one.
In 1967 the El Camino received a new front grille, front bumper, trim, collapsible steering column, and optional disc brakes. For 1967, there were 34,830 El Camino's produced in total. Add to that the likelihood of one surviving intact through all those working years, and you have yourself an unusual ride!
Much of the El Camino's trim isn't original to this car. Our consignor purchased from a family that purchased from who they believed to be the original owner. Story is that he was a retired Air Force pilot at the McClellan base in Sacramento, CA. They purchased it in hopes of making it special for them, but they were unable to do so. Our consignor purchased it and did a few upgrades all throughout.
The interior features new black carpeting, new black vinyl panels with fast operating power windows. The original interior was gold imitation leather. Our consignor had the bench seat re-upholstered in black vinyl with cloth black inserts. Peering through the three-spoke steering wheel we have original gauges showing fuel, a 120-mph speedometer, clock (doesn't appear to be working) with LED lights.
From the factory, this was finished in Mountain Green Poly (HH), but it's now finished in primer and is ready for the new owner to decide what color it should be. It's a great canvas for anyone looking for a nice running vehicle. All the chrome is in decent shape as well.
Under the hood we have a 1986 Chevrolet 350 engine, and she's healthy! This El Camino fires right up every time with zero hesitation. It features an Edelbrock carb, Hooker long tube headers, power steering, power brakes, new front tubular A-arms, and dual exhaust. She rolls on new BF Goodrich Silvertown Radials, 215/70R14 on front and rear.
